HTC 在 IFA 上公佈了 Desire X 的詳細資料，包括其規格和新功能等。首先就說規格，它採用 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 雙核心處理器、768MB RAM、4 吋 480 × 800 Super LCD 螢幕、500 萬像素鏡頭、支援 Beats Audio、4GB 內存空間加 2 年免費 25GB Dropbox 儲存空間、藍牙 4.0 以及預載 Android 4.0 系統加上自家的 Sense（尚未確定是 4.0 還是 4.1，或是官方表示的 4.0a）。機身有黑、白、藍三種顏色可供選擇，但估計藍色只會在部分地區推出。
另外，Desire X 中新增了 HTC ImageChip 技術，HDR 拍攝、連環快拍、拍影片時拍照等增強功能。至於上市日期方面，HTC 表示此機將在 9 月於香港、台灣、其它亞洲地區及歐洲地區推出發售，而中國則會到 10 月才上市。
